Research on the Negative Multistage Incremental Forming of Straight-Wall Parts Based on the Extrusion from the Forward and Reverse Side of the Sheet

Because the forming area involved in traditional reverse multistage incremental is only located inside model, sheet-metal thinning rate relatively large. Particularly, straight-wall parts with a narrow internal space cannot be formed using forming. Therefore, negative that extrudes sheet from forward and side of part proposed this paper. In method, firstly, auxiliary surface generated to divide model into three regions; secondly, first- second-stage are carried out support, respectively; Thirdly, third-stage without support. The software system for auxiliary-surface generation, partition, each intermediate-stage-forming stage-forming toolpath generation was developed by C++, VC++, OpenGL library. order verify feasibility method paper, experiments 1060 aluminum were conducted effects compared analyzed. results show forward-side extrusion, reverse-sided extrusion paper can increase participating deformation avoid problem excessive thickness, especially suitable space.
